After a while when I again went to the party after fixing my dress and makeup I saw Bhai calling me towards him, as I went there I saw my family and his together on a table along with his friends aarav and vedant.

Well our parents are best friends even before we were born and so I don't think if I have any right to behave oddly just because of a certain individual and spoiling the mood of many so I just sat there silently while the others were talking happily.

I don't know what to say and how to react even after I practiced it many times before coming here

When I saw in her in that black dress it felt as if my world Stopped.

My heart skipped a beat as my eyes on Shreya, who was standing before me.the woman i once loved and lost. The memories flooded back, hitting like a tidal wave of emotions i had buried deep within.

She stood before me in a black leather jacket, its sleek lines accentuating her slender frame. Underneath, a black blouse hugged her curves in all the right places, a hint of lace peeking out teasingly. Her dark jeans clung to her legs, ending in a pair of boots that added an extra edge to her already striking appearance.

My breath caught in the throat as i took in her entire look. The way her hair cascaded in waves around her shoulders, the smoky eyeshadow highlighting her expressive eyes, and the confident tilt of her chin-all of it combined to create a picture of fierce beauty that left him momentarily speechless.

There was also a storm of conflicting emotions swirling within me. The sight of her brought back the pain of the misunderstandings, the words left unsaid, and the love that had once bounded us together.

As i stood there, caught in the whirlwind of emotions, i struggled to maintain my composure. I clenched my fists at his sides, trying to rein in the tumultuous feelings threatening to consume me. The conflict played out in the eyes, flickering between longing and restraint, desire and pain.

"Oh! Atharva, it's been long," she said, with an expressionless face, her voice a melody that stirred memories i had tried to forget.

"Yes, it has,"i replied,tone carefully neutral.

I was lost in her beautiful doe eyes which were now red.

Argh... I don't want to see her like this but I can't do anything about it as well.

Our family members here do not know about our past rather than us so they aren't aware of the unhealthy situation of us right now but I can't let anyone sense something wrong, I have to pretend it the way...

Abhay interrupted my thoughts bcuz of which I gave her the flowers and she gladly accepted It and went away.

Thinking about what happened today I was again lost in my own thoughts but then

Suddenly mom called me and I flinched a little & came back to the world.

"Where were you lost son did something happen"

"Huh nowhere and yea Nothing happened , so don't worry"I said

"Bye the way tina do you remember how shreya and abhay were always stucked with each other in childhood but I don't know what's wrong with atharva. He never got along with our shreya beta, even now!"Mom said to tina aunt with a sigh.

"Yea I remember they were always together for real , like 24/7 they were sticked to each other. And about atharva and shreya don't talk about it like it's all his fault, it's nothing serious sometimes children just don't get along ."

"On top of it they didn't even spend much time together as abhay and shreya. He even went abroad during high school. So it's all normal for now."

"Yea yeah I remember it and ok I'll not talk about it if you say so."

They were all giggling talking about them and past while two doe eyes were glaring at someone fiercely and definitely that someone was me. It seemed as if those eyes were ready to chop me off and throw away somewhere very very faar away

I looked at mom when she suddenly patted my hand and said "atharva do you remember that time when you were 9 , how did you console her at her 7th birthday and acted as if you were the only one who cared for her and remembered her b'day and successfully got all her attention and love for yourself."

"Atleast you did something good in your childhood days"abhay said wiping off his fake tears.

"Yes! Now I can die peacefully after my little brat did something acceptable in his life" aarav said dramatically

"I'm proud of you my donkey head friend" vedant said laughing.

"Shut up all of you" I said with a cold stare.

"Aarav Bhai vedant Bhai Ye Bhai jbse India aaya hai sbse itna coldly kyun behave kr rhe Hain aur inke aas paas ki ye aura, ye to bilkul shreya ke un fictional books wali mafia's ki tarah hai ,ye bhi kahin ke mafia ban gye Hain kya"abhay said

("Aarav, Bhai, and Vedant, Bhai, why are they behaving so coldly since they came to India? And this aura around him, it's just like those fictional mafia leaders from Shreya's books. Did he also become mafia somewhere?")

"Are Tumhe kaise pata chala iske baare me."aarav and vedant said together

(Wait how did you get know about this)

"What do you mean" abhay said being astonished

"Nothing we were just trying to scare you"both of them said while laughing.

Flashback-

Shreya: where are mom dad? How did everyone vanish today without even telling me about it . Does no one really remember my birthday? She came at the backyard Started sobbing after saying this

While everyone hiding there from her to give a surprise but when they saw her cry they were going to end it all but then before anyone could come at front I ran away near her and said

Atharva: princess why are you crying look I'm with you don't cry please .see what have I brought for you .

I then gave her some flowers and she was literally happy as hell.

Then everyone came out and we celebrated her birthday.

The way jumped and hug me after that I still can't forget it...

Flashback ends-

"Umm yaa mom but please don't embarrass me telling all those past incidents " I said Trying not to bring up the past again

"Shut up " mom said

"You weren't embarassed doing all those things in the past and now you're acting as if you committed some crime by just caring for our shreyu beta "

"Mom I was a kid back then I didn't kn..."I was about to say something but I was cut offed by shreya

"Yes aunty please don't bring up the past if he thinks he is the only one embarassed then it's not "

"Ok ok done now will you both calm down a little"

Both of nodded and kept quiet for a while

"By the way shreya do you know atharva is now going to be a professor in the same University as you and abhay and from what I know you both are also in the certain majors so you'll attend his classes as well"atharva's dad (utkarsh) said

"Whatt" we three said together (abhay included)

"Someone pity me and shreya. How the hell will we bear him there. He's really annoying dad"abhay said pouting.

"Yes uncle I can't bear to see this donkey every day "shreya said

"Haan to Mai bhi koi mara nhi ja rha hu tum dono se Milne ko." Atharva said rolling his eyes.

(Even I'm not dying to meet you both )

"Asshole" shreya and abhay mumbled together which was audible to aarav and vedant and they started giggling.

"I heard that "

"What"

"What, what I heard you calling me asshole"

"So what it's not like I lied. You are an asshole." Shreya said with a proud smirk flipping her hairs.

"You, just wait....was cut offed

"Stop it now y'all "tina (shreya's mother) said with a sigh

"Yes and atharva I already talked to the trustees and Dean there,& also provided them with the paperworks, they also said that you're eligible for the position, so you'll start working from tomorrow "

Tomorrow dad but I wasn't even awar...before I could say anything

"No buts atharva you know you have to work in the company & along with it according to your wish, you can work in the uni, we know you wanted to be a professor and was going to apply for some university for a while, so just do what we told you and don't act as if we forced you." Vidhi (atharva's mom) said

"Yaa but not the one where angel was studying" i murmured to myself

"Let's see what future holds for me" , i thought

After talking for a while we left from there and went towards our respective houses....
